Sashastra Seema Bal is shortly called as SSB and it is the Border Guarding Force working under the administrative control of the Home Affairs Ministry of Government of India. This force came into existence in the year 1963 in the wake of Indo-China conflict.

SSB invites application from eligible women candidates for the position of SI (Staff Nurse) and some of the details regarding the notification issued by SSB for this position are given below:

Name of the positions: SI (Staff Nurse)

Number of Vacancies: Total number of vacancies is 45, which is divided as follows:

• UR – 24

• SC – 06

• ST - 03

• OBC – 12

Pay Scale: Candidates appointed for the position of Staff Nurse will be coming under PB-2 with pay scale of Rs. 9300-34800+ GP of Rs.4200.

Place of Duty: Selected candidates are liable to be posted anywhere in the country as per the transfer policy followed by SSB. The post is temporary post and it is likely to be permanent.

Eligibility:

Age requirement: To apply for the position of SI (Staff Nurse), candidates must be between the age group of 21 and 30 years. Upper age relaxation of five years is admissible candidates who are already in government service. Educational Qualification: Women candidates, who have completed their 10+2 in science stream or equivalent examination from a recognized board and has completed their three-year diploma course in General Nursing from a recognized institution are eligible to apply for the post of SI (Staff Nurse).

Other requirements: Candidates must be registered with state of central nursing council and they should also possess two-years working experience in a hospital. Candidates should also fulfill the physical standards of 157 cms height and their weight should be proportionate with the height according to medical standards. Selection Procedure:

Candidates fulfilling the physical measurement test as per the above standards will be called for Physical Efficiency Test and after qualifying in these two tests, they will be called for written test  and then for interview.
