Syllabus and Reference books of MD Ayurveda Entrance Exam

All India Post Graduate Ayurved Entrance Test is conducted every year for admission to MD/MS courses in Ayurveda. Graduates in Ayurvedic medicine and surgery are eligible to write the exam.  The exam will have objective type multiple choice questions.

Syllabus and Exam pattern

There will be 200 objective type questions in this exam. The duration of the test is 3 hours. The questions will be asked in English. Each question carries one mark. There will be negative marking for wrong answers. Questions will be asked from areas such as

  • Kriya shareeram (physiology)
  • Charaka samhita
  • Kaumarabritya (pediatrics)
  • Dravyaguna vijnanam (ayurvedic pharmacology)
  • Shalakya tantram (ENT, dentistry, ophthalmology)
  • Kayachikitsa (general medicine)
  • Prasuthi tanthra and stri roga (gynecology and obstetrics)
  • Rachana shareeram (anatomy)
  • Roga vijnanam and vikriti vijanam (principles of diagnosis and pathology)
  • Padartha vijnanam (Indian epistemology and world view) Sanskrit
  • Rasashastra and bhaishajyakalpana (medicinal chemistry and pharmacy)
  • Ayurveda itihasa (History of Ayurveda)
  • Shalya tantram (surgery)
  • Swastha vrittam (social and preventative medicine)

Each section carries specific set of questions. For instance, topics such as Kayachikista and Panchakarma will carry twenty five questions and twenty questions will be from AstangaHridaya, Padartha Vignanna, etc.

A thorough preparation is required to successfully clear the entrance exam. There will be a minimum cut off for the entrance test. The score of the exam and marks of graduation will be considered for the admission process.
