Exam Pattern and Test Centers for ISEET

Indian Science Engineering Eligibility test is conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education for admission to the engineering colleges, including IITs and NITs. The first national level test will be conducted in 2013. The test will replace the old IIT-JEE and AIEEE exams. National level institutes such as IITs, NITSs, IISER, and IIITs will consider the ISEET test score for their admission process. The exam will be conducted in all major cities in India. Dubai is the overseas test center for NRI candidates. The test will be held in March or April.

Exam pattern

The test will be conducted on a single day.  It will comprise of two papers. The papers are classified as ISEET Main and ISEET Advance. Candidates should qualify both the papers so as to get admission to these top level institutes. The two papers will have questions to check the candidate’s aptitude for engineering courses. The duration of the test is 6 hours and it will be conducted in two sessions. The ISEET Main exam will be in morning session and advance exam will be in the afternoon session.

ISEET Main

The duration of ISEET main paper exam is three hours. The questions will be multiple choice objective type ones.  Candidates can expect questions from logical reasoning, reading comprehension and critical thinking. The minimum weightage for ISEET Main is 30.

ISEET Advance

This is the second part of the test. It is of three hours duration. The minimum weightage to ISEET Advance is 30 %. One can expect questions from Quantitative aptitude, and problem solving ability in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. All the questions will be objective type.

The final score of the test will be calculated on the basis of marks secured in higher secondary examination and score obtained in ISEET.

Candidates can select the nearest center according to their convenience. Choice of the examination center can be indicated while filling the application forms. No changes can be done in the application form once submitted. Hence candidates are advised to fill the form carefully.
