Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research is a reactor research centre set up at Kalpakkam, India. The centre was established in the year 1971 under the Department of Atomic Energy. The centre gots its present name i.e. Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research in the year 1985. The centre is a renowned nuclear power plant aiding in meeting a percentage of the electricity demands in the city. Dr. S. C. Chetal is the director of the centre. FBTR (fast breeder) and KAMINI (kalpakkam mini) are the two reactors present at Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research.

Educational Qualification: Candidates should have passed HSC or SSC with atleat 60% marks in aggregate from a recognized board.
Pay Scale: Rs. 5200-20200 + Grade Pay of Rs. 2000.

Candidates should send a non refundable demand draft of Rs. 50 as application fee in support of their applications. SC/ST/PH candidates are exempted from paying this application fee. The demand draft should be made in favour of The Pay & Accounts Officer, IGCAR, Kalpakkam. No fee is required to be paid for the posts of Scientific Assistant ‘B’ and Technician ‘B’.
