The Telengana PhD entrance exam is an entrance exam which is conducted mainly with an objective of selecting the most eligible candidates in to the Doctoral programs in the area of Mass communication. The candidates have to attend the written examination for getting enrolled in to the PhD programs of the Telengana University. The candidate’s performance and the relative score that they obtain in the entrance examination will help them in securing admission to the PhD.

Structure of the Telengana PhD entrance exam for Mass Communication

The written exam for Mass Communication will be of 3 hours duration. The written examination will be conducted for a total of 100 marks.  The candidates will be getting 1 mark for each right answer. The candidate should try to answer all the questions to secure maximum marks in the entrance test. The candidates have to attend the questions which are divided in to 2 major sections. The first section will have around 10 questions of 5 marks each which will make the total score of the Section - A as 50 marks. The Section - B also includes questions for 50 marks. The candidates have to attend only 5 questions which will carry around 10 marks each. The candidates will be provided choices in Section – B, where in they can choose any 5 questions of their choice from the given set of questions. The questions will be generally from the particular subject area in which they are qualified.

Eligibility Criteria

The basic eligibility criterion for applying to the PhD program is a post graduation degree. It is mandatory for the candidates to secure the post graduation degree from a recognized university. Another important criterion is that the candidates should have secured at least 55% of marks in the post graduation level. The candidates who belong to the reserved categories namely the SC/ST etc are allowed a relaxation of 5%.  The candidates who are in the final year post graduation program are also eligible to apply for this exam.
