G.B. Pant Institute of Himalayan Environment & Development was established in the year 1988 at Almora, India. The institute was established as an autonomous institute under the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India. The major objective of the institute is to provide advance scientific knowledge to the students and also to evolve integrated management strategies. Ensurement of environmentally sound development in the entire Indian Himalayan Region is the prime objective of the institute.
Job Profile:
Applications are invited for purely project based temporary positions in MoEF funded project ” Exploration, diversity and mapping of vegetation in the urban forsts of Kumaon Himalayan towns using Remote Sensing & GIS.
Eligibility:
Candidates should be not be more than 28 years of age. Relaxation is there for the reserved category candidates as per government rules.
Educational Qualification:
M. Sc. in RS & GIS/Geoinformatics or PG Diploma in RS & GIS/Geoinformatics Plus Master in Science/Master in Geography with atleast 55% marks in aggregate is required for applying for the prescribed post.
Pay Scale: Consolidated salary of Rs. 12000 per month will be given to the selected candidates.
Selection Process:
Candidates selection for the seat of Junior Research Fellows in G.B. Pant Institute of Himalayan Environment & Development will be made only thorugh the conduct of a walk in interview session with the selection committee that will be held on 1 June 2010 from 10 AM onwards.
