Lal Bahadur Shastri College of Education came into existence in the year 2007 and the college was established by the Lal Bahadur Shastri Educational Trust for the purpose of developing as a quality centre of education for future teachers in varied fields of educational technology. The college is affiliated to the University of Jammu and it is recognized by the Government of Jammu & Kashmir for offering teacher education course.

Eligibility requirement:

For applying to the Bachelor of Education course offered by the Lal Bahadur Shastri College of Education, candidates must have passed their UG degree in any of the faculties like arts, science, commerce, social science, fine arts, music, forestry, veterinary science, agriculture, engineering or medicine either under 10+1+3/10+2+2 or under 10+2+3 pattern of education. They must have completed this degree course either from the University of Jammu or from any other statutory university registered with the association of India Universities with not less than 45% of aggregate marks (40% for reserved category candidates).

Admission procedure:

Admission of students to the B. Ed course offered by the Lal Bahadur Shastri College of Education is done based on the merit secured by the students in the admission process conducted by the authorities of Jammu University. The college follows the following steps in the process of admitting students to the Bachelor of Education course:

• Selected candidates will have to get their qualifying examination documents verified from the Jammu University Authorities

• They should collect the allotment slip from the university and should pay the fees specified by the college at the Jammu & Kashmir Bank at the campus of the university

• Then, the candidates must report to the college for admission and should fill up the application form given by the college and this application form should be submitted with the copies of documents pertaining to age proof (secondary school leaving certificate), conduct certificate, reserved category certificate (if applicable), inter university migration certificate if graduation was done in a university other than Jammu University, provisional and degree certificate of the qualifying examination, certificate of class XII examination
