IGNOU Diploma in Civil Engineering-Theory of Structures - I Papers is taught in the institutes that teach civil engineering and provide a diploma in engineering degree in the same. Format

The format of the paper is like any other paper of a course related examination offered by IGNOU. The paper has  2 parts. The first part is multiple choice and is compulsory. There is choice for the 2nd part. One can attempt any 4 questions.

The paper covers chapters like Struts, strain energy, Static Indeterminacy of structures, Thin cylindrical and spherical shells: Analysis of indeterminate structures: Theorem of three Moments, Slope Deflection Method, Moment Distribution Method,etc

Marking

Marks are according to the part attempted of the four questions because each question carries 14 marks. Even the MCQ part carries 14 marks. The total marks are 70.

Time

The paper has to be completed by 3 hours.
