The name of Indian Institute of technology is enough in itself to prove excellence and potential at once. IITs are the one and only college in India that has made such a huge name in technical education throughout the world. That is the reason that every year more than lakhs of students apply for this prestigious institutions and me re thousands gets selected. Being an IIT, the IIT Roorkee shares the same status and reputation.

IIT Roorkee’s department of Management studies is a wing of this particular IIT that offers MBA degree programs in various trades. The college welcomes students aspiring to study the course of management in this prestigious institution. Though it is a technical college, but as told earlier, the excellent study system and the outstanding effort from the faculties leads them being one of the best in this field also.

IITR-DoMS was established in the year 1998, and is offering MBS degree course since then. The course has been provided in such a way that the present scenario suggest thousands of applicants for this program in this college.

It is a well known fact that IIT Roorkee is said to be the oldest technical institute in India. It was established way back in 1847. It was named as Thomason College of engineering in that time. It came under the shadow of IITs in the year 2001 and after independence it was renamed to University of Roorkee.

This is cent percent true that IITS have made enough names in the market be cause of their technical education, but it is also to be kept in mind that their capabilities were up to the mark to provide the students with such quality education. The same is provided to those who studies MBA under the department of management studies.

For admission to the full time 2 year MBA programme of IITR-DoMS candidates have to appear in JMET-2011 (Joint Management Entrance Test) like all for all IITs MBA programmes. In addition candidates have to apply separately for IITR-DoMS. Students shortlisted through JMET are called for Personal Interview and Group Discussion for final selection.

Eligibility Criteria:

A candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology or equivalent OR Master’s degree in any discipline or equivalent with atleast 60% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA in the qualifying exam.Candidates in their final year of qualifying exam can also apply. There will be relaxation of 5% marks or equivalent in CGPA for SC/ST candidates.

The form will be available through post by sending a request for the form to IITR-DoMS. After receiving the form candidates have to send the filled form along with a demand draft of Rs. 500(Rs. 250 for SC/ST/PD) in favor of ‘The Chairman, PG Admission, And Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee’.
