Annamalai University has many courses to offer in the distance learning mode. The University was the first in India to offer postgraduate courses also through distance education mode. There is a Directorate of Distance Education in the University which is dedicated of this purpose only.

Of the many undergraduate courses offered by the University one is a bachelor’s degree in Computer Applications. The degree is a three year one. The coming age is the age of computers so having a degree in computer applications proves useful for the students.

Among the subjects of the course there is a paper called Wireless Application Protocol in the third year. This subject is important for the in-depth knowledge of computers. All the transmission in modern times is wireless in nature. The exam of the subject is of duration three hours with a maximum of 100 marks. The paper consists of two sections. Section A has 10 questions with a choice of answering any 8. All the questions are of equal marks thus carrying 5 marks each. Section B has five questions with a choice to answer any three. Each question carries 20 marks. The questions are all conventional types i.e. they require detailed answers.
