Rajasthan is the land of Rajasthanis and it is the largest state with respect to area in the nation. The state is situated in the northwestern part of India and it encompasses most of the area of the inhospitable, large and great Thar Desert. The state of Rajasthan is bounded by the states of Punjab to the north, by the states of Uttar Pradesh and Haryana to the northeast, by the state of Madhya Pradesh to the southeast, by the state of Gujarat to the southwest and by the states of Pakistan to the west. The city of Jaipur is the capital city of the state.

Education in the state of Rajasthan:

In the recent years, there has been significant progress in the education field of the state of Rajasthan and the state government has been making efforts for bringing about further development in the educational field of the state. This has brought about improvement in the literacy rate in the state and the state at present has nine universities and more than 250 colleges. The state also acts as the home for many technical institutions.
