Application Forms of AIIMS Exam
The advertisement inviting application for the AIIMS entrance exam will appear in all leading dailies around January. Candidates who have passed 12th std with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with a minimum of 60% marks. (50% in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST category). Students awaiting results are also eligible to apply. The candidate should be at least 17 years old.
Application Forms and Fee
The prospectus and application form costs Rs. 1000/-. This is inclusive of the exam fee. It is Rs.800/- for SC/ST candidates.
Online Application
Payment for the application for the entrance exam can be made using the debit/credit card. Also one can make the payment in State Bank of India and secure the challan. Along with the application fees the candidates need to pay a transaction fee which varies.
- 4% of the transaction amount for amex and diners credit card
- 2.5% of the transaction amount for netbanking, visa and masterCard credit and debit cards.
- Rs.25/- through challan at any SBI branch.
Offline Application
Candidates wishing to apply offline need to first take a demand draft. The Bank Draft should be valid up to July-August. The candidate’s name and the course for which applied for has to written on the reverse of the DD. This request, with the words “REQUEST FOR APPLICATION FORM FOR MBBS ENTRANCE EXAMINATION 2010”on the envelope and the request letter, should be sent to Assistant Controller of Examinations, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Ansari Nagar, New Delhi – 110 608.
Filling the application form
A few important things to be kept in mind while filling the form.
- Read the prospectus carefully prior to filling the application form.
- The candidate should fill the form in block letters in his/her own handwriting. Be careful not to over write.
- The candidate needs to check if he/she has got the prospectus, application form, computer registration sheet, attendance sheet, admit card and acknowledgment card. The candidate also needs to check if the number printed on all these are the same. Any discrepancy found in anything received needs to be informed to the exam section of the AIIMS.
- The number on the computer registration sheet will be the reference number used; so it needs to be noted down.
- There are specific codes to be entered in the computer registration sheet. A list of all these codes are available in the prospectus. Check carefully while entering these codes.
- A list of centers and their codes will be found in the prospectus. Fill the code of your choice. Keep in mind that, the AIIMS makes the final decision on the exam center.
- The candidate can select either English or Hindi as the language for the question paper.
The filled form has to be sent along with a set of documents mentioned in the prospectus. Recent passport size photographs should be pasted on the application form, admit card and attendance sheet.
Documents to be submitted
- A certified photocopy of the 10th std certificate
- A certified photocopy of the 12th std certificate. Students awaiting results should submit a certificate from the principal of his/her institution.
- A certified photocopy of the conduct certificate.
- A certified photocopy of the caste certificate in case of SC/ST candidates.
- Candidates paying through challan need to submit the counter foil of the challan too
