Biotechnology is a subject that is basically the combination of technology and biology. The subject deals with the technological aspect of dealing with biology. The course also includes study of the biological means that can be utilized and can be used in the technological front. The subject is basically the boundary where the normal biology cannot work. Thus, biotechnology is always seen as the subject that helps one is studying those aspects of science which has both biology as well as technology in it. In M.Sc in Biotechnology, the stress is over the depth and detail of the study as the course is of a master’s level.

The course is available in many colleges all over the country. This includes both government as well as private institution. The fee charged by the governments institute is very less as compared to the fee charged by the private institutions.
The famous institutes that are renowned for this course are Amity University, VIT, University of Delhi, University of Pune, University of Noida, and University of Calcutta. The fee structure of M.sc in Biotechnology generally lies in between Rs. 6000 to 83000 per year. VIT charges Rs. 75000 per year for M.sc in Biotechnology. Amity University charges Rs. 83000 per year for this course. The fee of SD University for this course is Rs. 20,000 per year whereas Padmashree group of institutions (affiliated to Bangalore University) charges Rs. 70,000 paer year for this course.
Few colleges in the above mentioned names does in take students on special quota reserved for lower and backward class. Few colleges also provide fee relaxation to the poor students in the form of scholarship.
