High Court of Punjab and Haryana was established on the 1st of November 1966 under the States Re-organization Act, 1966. The High Court is located in Sector 1 of Chandigarh. Chandigarh is a union territory and the common capital for the states of Punjab and Haryana and so the court located at Chandigarh is common to both the states. The Court is sanctioned with 68 judges consisting of Chief Justice, 36 Permanent Judges and 31 Additional Judges. The Court has 43 judges as on October, 2010.

Eligibility:
Age Criteria: Minimum age limit is 18 yrs and Maximum age limit is 27 yrs.
Educational Qualification: Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science or equivalent qualification from a recognized University. Computer proficiency in Word processing and Spread Sheets is essential.
Selection Process:
The selection process includes written examination with objective type questions, computer/typing test.

The application form of prescribed format can be obtained by hand on any working day at Gate No.2 of Punjab and Haryana High Court located at Chandigarh on payment of application fee plus examination fee. The application form can also be obtained by post by sending a Bank Draft of required amount.

Application fee:
Application fee plus examination fee is Rs.300/- (Rs.150 for candidates falling under the category of ex-servicemen, physically handicapped, other backward caste, schedule tribe and schedule caste. In case of obtaining application by post Bank Draft of Rs.350 (for General Category) / Rs.200 (for Reserved Category) must be drawn in favor of Registrar General, Punjab and Haryana High Court to be paid at Chandigarh.
