Central University of Himachal Pradesh came into existence on the 20th March 2009 under Act 2009 of the Central Universities of Indian Parliament. The main objectives of the University are to spread knowledge by providing instructional and research facilities; to provide integrated courses in humanities, social sciences, sciences and technology; to offer training and education to younger generation for the development of the whole nation; to set up linkages with industries for the promotion of science and technology; and to improve the social and economic conditions and welfare of the people.
