Master of Science (M.Sc) in Dietetics and Food Service Management (DFSM) is one of the courses offered by IGNOU, an open university.  It has 10 theoretical papers and 9 practical papers with the total of 64 credits. MFN-001 is an applied physiology paper which has no practical work. It carries 4 credits. This subject basically deals with the various biological systems in our body.

For this paper an examinee should know about 12 topics namely the Reproductive System; Physiology of the Endocrine Glands; Renal System; Gastrointestinal System; Special Tissue; Respiration; Cardiovascular System; The Immune System; Cell and Blood; Nervous System and Maintenance of body Homeostasis.

Time Duration:

MFN-001 is for 3 hours duration.

Division of the paper:

There are a total of 8 questions each carrying 20 marks, out of which 5 is to be attempted. Question 1 is compulsory which has two parts. There are 5 terms which is to be explained and match the following. Question 2-7 are questions from each of the topic given above and question 8 is short note writing. There are few topics given, out of which a candidate answers 4. A candidate should also prepare diagrams with theoretical questions.
