About the Subject Central Banking and Commercial Banking

Central Banking and Commercial Banking (MB3G2B) is a subject which is taught to the students who are pursuing their Masters in Business Administration Course from the ICFAI University. In this subject students are taught the basic principles of Banking System and made aware of the different facts associated with it. They are also taught how to tackle problems which one can face with Central and Commercial Banking.

Time and Marks:

The duration of the test is 3 hours and the maximum marks are 100.

Sections in the Paper:

There are three sections in the paper. The first section is about basic concepts. The second section is caselets and problems and the third section is on applied theory.

Pattern:

The 100 marks of the paper are divided into three sections. The first section carries 30 marks, the second one carries 50 marks and the last one carries 20 marks. In the first section there are thirty questions based on Basic Concepts. All the questions are compulsory. The time allotted for this section is 30 minutes. Each question is of 1 mark. The questions are all multiple choice type ones.

In the second section, 8 questions are given and all of them are to be answered. Usually 3 caselets are given. This section is of 50 marks. Marks vary according to the questions. Around 110-120 minutes are given for this section. All the questions require detailed answers.

The last section is of Applied Theory. This section carries 20 marks. Two questions are given and both of them are to be answered. 20-30 minutes are given for this section.
