About the Examination:
There are four levels in the DOEACC and an examinee has to qualify all the papers in a particular level to gradually move up to the next level. The levels are O, A, B, and C respectively in the order of hierarchy.Data Communication And Computer Networks Papers is coded as B2.4.
Examination Pattern:
The examination is a subjective based paper where one has to master the bacis and conceptual nuances of the subject. There is just one theory paper on this subject.
About the Paper :
The paper is encountered in the second semester of the B level which has a total of five semesters, and is among the six subjects that is there in the second semester.
Syllabus:
The topics covered in this paper deals with the basic concepts of LAN Local Area Network, WAN Wide Area Networks, Fundamentals of Data communications and Networks. It also gives an idea of the security process involved and the management and wireless networks. Commonly asked questions include topics like the flow control of the OSI model, the five layers of the TCP/IP etc
Paper Pattern:
The paper is divided into two parts, part one and part two. Part one consists of all objective type questions and has forty marks.
Part two has subjective type of questions and has 60 marks allotted to it. Part one is to be attempted in an hour time and then the answer booklet for part two is provided. There is an option of attempting 4 questions out of the 5 that is given. Each question carries 15 marks.
Full marks of the question and the time allotted:
The total marks allotted are 100 and the maximum time given is 3 hours.
