Jammu & Kashmir Public Service Commission was established in the year 1957 on the 26th of January and as other public service commission, the J & K Public Service Commission shortly called as JKPSC is also responsible for taking care of recruitment process in government organizations in the state of Jammu & Kashmir.

Recruitment by JKPSC:

Jammu & Kashmir Public Service Commission calls for applications from permanent residents of the state of Jammu & Kashmir for the Jammu & Kashmir Accounts Service and Jammu & Kashmir Police Service. Some of the details regarding the notification issued by the department are given below:

Name of the Services: J & K Accounts Service, J & K Police Service

Number of Vacancies: Total number of Vacancies is 25, which is divided as follows:

• J & K Accounts Service – 16 (OM-9, RBA-03, SC-01 and ST–02)

• J & K Police Service  - 09 (OM–5, RBA-02, SC-01 and ST-01)

Pay Scale: Candidates will be appointed under PB – 2 for both services at a pay scale of Rs.9300-34800 plus a GP of Rs.4800

Eligibility:

Educational Qualification: For both services, candidates must be UG degree holders from a recognized university. Even, candidates who are appearing for the final examination on or before the last date of application for preliminary examination can apply for these positions.

Age: The minimum age limit is 21 years and the maximum age limit is 35 years as on the 1st of January 2011 (i.e.) candidates must have born between 1st of Jan 1976 and 01st of Jan 1990. Application fee:

The cost of application is Rs.800 for open category candidates and Rs.550 for reserved category candidates falling under OM, RBA, SC and ST category.

Application forms can be obtained by the candidates from any of the designated branches of J & K Bank as given in annexure A of the following webpage: http://www.jkpsc.org/pdffiles/advance_notice_kas_notification_final.pdf. Candidates should drop the application forms fully filled with DD and copies of proof of educational qualification and age in any of the designated branches of the J & K Bank. Candidates cannot submit the forms in the office of Public Service Commission.

Selection procedure:

JKPSC has invited applications from candidates for the preliminary written test and candidate getting through this test, will be called for mains examination.
