You have to appear for Common Civil Service exam conducted by UPSC [Union Public Service Commission].
On selection you can opt for IPS [Indian Police Service]. |

To become an IPS officer it is a must for you to complete your graduation. You can choose the stream of your choice. Also you need to be at least 21 years of age. You need to clear the UPSC exam which has the prelims first which on clearing you can appear for the mains. After this you will need to face a personal interview and finally a physical fitness test. You can start preparing as early as possible especially for the general knowledge and current affairs section.

Dear friend,
To become an IPS officer, you need to crack the Civil service Exam ,conducted by the UPSC every year. The eligibility to apply for this exam is that the candidate should have a bachelor's degree in any stream with at least 50% marks. Also he/she should be at least 21 years of age and upper age must not exceed 30 years. There is a written exam and after that personal interview and medical check up. If you crack all these levels of the exam, you can get a post in the IPS services. Good luck... |

1. Age- 21 to 30 years (relaxation 33 for obc and 35 for sc/st) 2. Number of attempts- Four attempts for open, seven for OBCs and no limit for SCs/STs. 3. Physical Requirement- Height – Male 165 cm Pahari Male (general also) & ST (not the SC/ OBC) – 160 cm 4. Nationality- Indian 5. Educational qualification- graduate/post graduate from a recognised university. |

To become IPS you have to clear the UPSc exam. Exam Pattern: All India Combined Competitive Examination for the Civil Services conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) comprises of two successive stages:
· Apply online by using the website http://www.upsconline.nic.in · Apply offline by purchasing the application form from designated post offices throughout the country. You have to appear in Common Civil Service exam conducted by UPSC.
For IPS exam you have to first complete your graduation because only graduation candidates are allowed in the IPS exam. There are very large Scope to make your career well in IPS.. |

for becoming an IPS officer, you have to appear for civil service examination conducted by Union public service commission, New Delhi. This is a very tough exam and generally first 70 ranks become IAS officer, and after 70 rank becomes IPS officer according to their preferences. The eligibility criteria for this exam is basically any graduate. There are a lot of other criteria which you can find at the website www.upsc.gov.in

You want to become an IPS officer, for that you have to appear in IPS exam.. Eligibility for IPS exam:- *The candidate must have complete the graduation in any trade.. *The candidate must not have any pending backlogs during graduation.. *The candidates age should be in between 21-30 years.. For SC/ST the upper age relaxation is 5 years and for OBC the upper age relaxation is 3 years.. *The candidate can also appear in IPS exam during the final year of graduation.. If you fulfill all these criteria then you can apply for this exam.. So, go for it.. All the best.. |

Educational qualification: You should have completed your graduation in any discipline from any recognized university. Age limit: Should have crossed 21 years. But should not have crossed 30 for general category, 33 for OBCs and 35 for SCs/STs . Physical Standard: Height – Male 165 cm Eye sight – 6/6 or 6/9 Blood pressure (High) – Age 23 – 123, age 24 – 124, age 25 –122, age 28 – 124, age 30 –125, age 32 – 126, age 34 – 127. Others: Good listening & normal ear cavity. Candidate should not stammer while speaking. If you fulfill it, then take a look at the admission procedure: You can apply both online and offline. For offline application, you have to collect the form from the designated post offices. For online application, you have to visit the official website. You will also get other details there...like exam date, other criteria etc.... official website-- http://www.upsc.gov.in the notification is not published in the official website. |

Candidates having professional and technical qualifications recognized by the government are also eligible. For the Indian Administrative Service and the Indian Police Service, a candidate must be a citizen of India For other services, a candidate must be either : (a) a citizen of India, or (b) a subject of Nepal, or (c) a subject of Bhutan, or (d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India with the intention of permanently settling in India. or Physical Standards : Candidates must be physically fit according to physical standards for admission to Civil Services Examination. 1:Height- Minimum height for the Male 165 cm & for ST 160 cm,for the SC/ OBC,is not Minimum height for the Female 150 cm & for ST 145 cm,for the SC/ OBC,is not 2:Chest- for male minimum 84 cm. expansion 5 cm. for female minimum 79 cm. expansion 5 cm. 3:Eye Sight- 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision.
