IPS means Indian Police Service. IPS is one of the top civil service in India.

In order to be placed in IPS, you have to crack the civil services examination that will be conducted once in a year by UPSC.

By cracking this civil services exam, one can join various civil services like

Indian Administrative Service
Indian Police Service
Indian Revenue Service etc.

You did not mention the highest level of academic qualification that you have.

But if you want to apply for this exam,

You should have completed your Graduation with any of the stream from a recognized university.

Graduation is the minimum qualification required.

if you have not completed your Graduation, then I suggest you to complete the Graduation with the stream which you are interested.

The age criteria that is required for the candidates to take this exam is,
21-30 years of age for the candidates of General category
21-33 years of age for the candidates of OBC category
21-35 years of age for the candidates of SC or ST category.

If you have completed your Graduation and possess the above mentioned age, then you can take this exam.

Wish you all the best.
