Name of the Service: Technical Apprenticeship Training

Number of Vacancies: Total number of Vacancies is 210, which is divided as follows:

• Mechanical Engineering – 70

• Electrical Engineering – 60

• Civil Engineering – 20

• Instrumentation – 10

• Chemical Engineering – 10

• Mining Engineering – 10

• Computer Science & Engineering – 10

• Electronics & Communication – 10

• Commercial Practice - 10

Stipend: Candidates selected for the position of Technical Apprenticeship Training, will get a stipend of Rs.2530 per month (inclusive of all).

Training Period: The period of Training is one year

Eligibility Requirement:

Educational Qualification: For all branches of engineering, candidates must have completed their diploma in engineering in appropriate branch with not less than 55% of marks (50% for SC/ST candidates). For the branch of Commercial Practice, candidates must have completed their Diploma in Commercial Practice with not less than 55% of marks (50% for SC/ST Candidates)

Other eligibility conditions:

In addition to the above-mentioned educational qualification, candidates will have to fulfill other requirements like:

• Experienced candidates can apply, but they should not possess more than one year of experience

• Candidates should not be undergoing or should not have undergone any apprenticeship training program in NLC or elsewhere

• Candidates must have completed their qualifying examination before the 1st of October 2008

• Candidates should belong to any of the union territories like Lakshadweep, and Pondicherry and any of the states like Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh

Mode of Selection:

Candidates will be selected purely on the basis of merit secured in the qualifying Diploma course. If more than one candidate has secured the same percentage of marks, preference will be given to candidates who are senior most on the basis of their age.
