Union Public Service Commission is comprises of a Chairman and nine other members. The appointment of the Chairman and other members in the UPSC is made by President of India only. The commission act as a government organisation with the aim to serve Indian region only. The commission is a constritutional body which came into existence in the year 1926 on the demands of Indian Politicians. The commission is responsible for conducting competitive examination for making recruitment to the various Civil Service of India. The commission also advise government on the miscellaneous matters relating to pensions, reimbursement etc.

Job Profile:

Eligible Indian Nationals are invited to apply for the following positions of Senior Lecturer (opthalmology), Lecturer and Senior Mining Geologist in various ministeries and departments of Government of India. The position of Lecturer is available in the field of Physics, Electrical, Computer Engineering or Civil and Electronics.

Posts available in Chandigarh Medical Education Department:

1. Recruitment of Senior Lecturer (Opthalmology):
No. of posts: Only 1 post is available.
Age Limit: Candidate’s age should not exceed 53 years.
Educational Qualification: M.S. in Opthalmology or M.D. in Opthalmology from a recognized university or equivalent is required for the post.
Pay Scale: Consolidated salary of Rs. 38626 per month.

2. Recruitment of Lecturer:
No. of posts: Only 9 posts are available.
Age Limit: Candidate’s age should not exceed 35 years.
Educational Qualification: Master’s degree in Physics with atleast 60% marks in aggregate from a recognized university or equivalent.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 5400.

3. Recruitment of Senior Mining Geologist:
No. of posts: Only 9 posts are available.
Age Limit: Candidate’s age should not exceed 40 years.
Educational Qualification: Master’s degree in Geology or Applied Geology from a recognized university or equivalent.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 6600.
