Graduate Apprentice - Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC)
Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre shortly called as VSSC is a pioneering centre for creation of satellite launch vehicles and related technologies. The centre is involved in research & development activities in different fields like composites, avionics, aeronautics, etc… for achieving self-sufficiency in the vehicle launching technology.
Recruitment by VSSC:
VSSC has invited applications from eligible candidates for the position of Graduate Apprentice, under the Apprentice Act 1961 from candidates coming under southern region like Pondicherry, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala.

Number of Vacancies: Total number of vacancies is 109, which is divided among the different disciplines as follows:
• Aeronautical Engineering Post No. GA01 – 06
• Chemical Engineering Post No. GA02 – 05
• Civil Engineering Post No. GA03 – 04
• Computer Engineering/Computer Science Engineering Post No. GA04 – 08
• Electrical Engineering/Electrical & Electronics Engineering Post No. GA05 – 04
• Electronics Engg./Applied Electronics/Electronics & Telecommunication/Electronics & Instrumentation/Electronics & Communication Engg./Electronics Production Technology Post No. GA06 – 30
• Mechanical Engg./Mechanical - Production Stream Engg. Post No. GA07 – 29
• Mettulargy Post No. GA08 – 04
• Production Post No. GA09 – 05
• Library Science/Library & Information Science Post No. GA10 – 14
Period of Training: Selected candidates will be under training period for one year and they will be registered under Apprentices Act 1961. Candidates, who have completed their required degrees in the year 2010 and 2011 are only eligible for training positions.
Stipend: During the period of training, selected candidates will get a stipend of Rs.5000 per month.

Educational qualification:
For each of the aforesaid departments, candidates must have completed their Bachelor’s degree in appropriate discipline with a minimum of 65% of marks. In addition to this for the department of Library, Library & Information Sciences, candidates must be graduates in BBA/BCA/B. Com/B.A. along with not less than 60% of marks in the degree course in library/library & information sciences.
Age Requirement: Upper age limit is 35 years for general category candidates, 38 years for OBC, 40 years for SC/ST and 45 years for PH Candidates as on the 2nd of September 2011.

Candidates meeting the eligibility requirements will have to apply online through the website of VSSC at http://www.vssc.gov.in/internet/ from the 17th of August to 02nd of September. Once online application is made, candidates will be provided with an online registration number, which should be preserved for future. After applying online, printed copy of the application with a passport size photograph should be sent to the following address through speed post before the 15th of September 2011:
