IVRI PhD Admission Test 2012
The IVRI, acronym of Indian Veterinary Research Institute Entrance Exam, specializes in dedicated research on livestock and methods to develop a region. Great faculty and extra decent infrastructural facilities gained it a reputation which seldom other similar Institutes obtained. IVRI takes an annual PhD admission test for aspirants of PhD degree in various veterinary disciplines. Earning an admission in this Institute would be tough as so is the competition in the exam.
Structure of IVRI PhD Admission Test
Candidates will be selected based on their scores in the test, scores in interviews and that of academics (in their Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees). The exam, which is 3 hours long, will comprise mostly of MCQ (Objective type) questions but in 2 parts.
Part A – Will have questions of English and General Knowledge subjects.
Part B – From the subjects related to the discipline that the candidates choose to do a PhD in.

English
For English and general knowledge questions in Part A of the question paper, there is no specific syllabus.
- Comprehension of published literature
- Précis writing
- Speech skills etc.
Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility conditions should be satisfied, if the candidates are to apply for the IVRI PhD examination
Eligible to apply and attend the test, are those candidates who procured a Master’s degree in Veterinary Science in any discipline but with 60% aggregate or at least 7.00/10.00 OGPA for general categories and 55% and 6.45 OGPA respectively for reserved category candidates. The candidates must also be proficient in English language.
The candidates must be 23 years old as on September 1st on the year of admission also to be eligible. There is no upper age limit but it’s tentative.
How to Apply?
The candidates can opt any of the following methods to apply for IVRI PhD admission test:
By remitting the registration fee of Rs 1200 for general/OBC/PH category candidates and Rs 1000/- for SC/ST candidates in the form of demand drafts favoring ICAR, IVRI Unit, Izatnagar payable at CARI Branch State Bank of India (Code – 7027), Bareilly.
OR
Download application form and information brochure from the website of IVRI, www.ivri.nic.in , fill up the forms and submit it with a demand draft of the fee amount mentioned above.
How to fill the Form?
Precise and error free fill application forms always help. So as to rectify all errors that may have occurred, the candidates will have to check each entry after filling up every detail precisely. Textual entries are preferred in block letters using ball point or gel pens of black ink. If candidates get confused in filling up certain fields about the detail, they can make use of the instruction booklet. Follow all guidelines in the booklet thoroughly. Leaving fields unfilled are not acceptable.
Other particulars which are required to apply will be given in the instruction booklet. Do what is instructed to validate the particulars for submission. Candidates are requested to submit the forms as early as possible for a late submission will be rejected summarily. The forms are not to be handled improperly and they shouldn’t be irregularly folded or spoiled in any manner.

Issuing of Application forms – From the last week of April to the last week of May (by Post), 2012 and till the beginning of June (from the University Counter)
Last date of receipt of form – Within 3 days on the 1st week of June, 2012
