Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination is carried out for the aspirants of Engineering, Medicine and Agriculture streams. The examination is carried out by the JCECE Board, Ranchi. The JCECE Engineering examination is one of the challenging entrance examinations for the Engineering aspirants. The score of the JCECE engineering examination is the basis for the admission procedure of the Government and Private Engineering colleges under the JCECE board and hence a large number of aspirants in the state are taking this exam every year.

Structure of JCECE Engineering

The JCECE Examination will be conducted in two different stages, the preliminary examination and the final examination.

Stage I: The preliminary exam is an objective type paper with 150 minutes duration. There will be 200 questions from

  • Physics
  • Chemistry
  • Mathematics

The candidates will get negative marks if there is any wrong response.

Stage II: It is also objective type examination covering the areas of Physics, chemistry and mathematics.

  • Physics and Chemistry: 100 questions (180 minutes)
  • Mathematics: 100 questions (90 minutes)

Only those candidates who qualify the first stage are eligible to take the main exam.

Eligibility Criteria for JCECE Engineering

The aspirant must have cleared plus two or equivalent from the recognized board. They must study PCM at their plus two level and must score 50% marks in the qualifying examination. The eligible category students will have the relaxation as per the rules. The candidates appearing for the final board examination can also take the examination. There is no age limit for taking the examination and the candidates should be the resident of Jharkhand.

How to Apply for JCECE Engineering?

The candidates can get the application form from the selected post office of the state. They can purchase the form with the cash payment of Rs. 585/-. The candidates can also download the application form from the official website of JECEE.

How to fill the Form for JCECE Engineering?

The applicants should fill the application form with needed concentration and any single error will cause rejection of request for the examination. They have to use the black ball point pen for filling the form and the information should be in block letters. The candidates who purchase the form from the post office must send the filled form through the post-office only. The candidates who download the application form from the official website need to mention the details of the demand draft in the prescribed columns. The aspirants should make sure that the form reaches the office before the closing dates.

Score Validity

The score of the entrance test will be valid for one year and it is applicable for the period of the admission process only.

    I am working in Indian Institute of Natural Resins and Gums (ICAR) Ranchi, Govt of India for last 10 and half years. I basically belong to Bihar. My ward wants to appear for JCEE 2012 in engineering stream. Is he eligible for the same? He has qualified 10+2 exam with 71% marks in 2011.
