Government Colleges for B.E/B. Tech Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering
The instrumentation Technology, being an inter-disciplinary branch of engineering is heading towards development of blue tooth technology, MEMS technology, smart transducers and intelligent and new sensors. Particularly in the field of manufacturing, automation systems are being rapidly enhanced thereby increasing the demand for skilled electronics and instrumentation engineering.
With the ever-increasing demand for electronics & instrumentation engineers, many students wish to take up this course and this course is offered at the UG level by many colleges in India. The names of government colleges offering this course in India are given below:
• Government College of Technology, Coimbatore
• Institute of Engineering & Technology, Lucknow
Eligibility requirements:
For getting into the B.E/B. Tech Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering course offered by these government institutions, candidates must have completed their higher secondary in science stream with good percentage of marks in physics, chemistry and mathematics subjects.
Admission Procedure:
Admission to the Government College of Technology is done based on the state level entrance examination conducted in the state of Tamil Nadu, while some seats are filled on the basis of AIEEE score. On the other hand, admission to the Institute of Engineering & Technology is done based on SEE-UPTU score of the candidates and in this institution also some seats are filled based on AIEEE score.
Higher studies after Electronics & Instrumentation course in the UG level:
After completion of the UG level course in electronics & instrumentation engineering, candidates can go for Master’s degree in the same discipline or they can also apply for other related field of engineering like electronics & communication and electrical & electronics engineering.
Role of electronics & instrumentation engineers:
Candidates, taking up electronics & instrumentation engineering course, will be learning subject matters pertaining to digital signal processing, control systems, electronic circuits, electrical machines, mechanical, electronics and electrical systems, etc… Knowledge in these subjects enable the candidates to fabricate, develop and design different electronic related equipment. Another aspect of electronics & instrumentation engineering lies in the interest of the engineers in the field of automation, which is one of the largest trends in all industries these days. In many industries control and optimization is another crucial criterion and electronics & instrumentation engineers with expertise in these fields will be efficient enough to solve different critical requirements of the industries.
Job prospects:
