Geo Scientist - How to become a Geo Scientist?
Those who are involved in the scientific study of earth can be simply referred to as Geo Scientist. These trained professionals conduct studies on the structure and composition of the materials that comprises of the earth surface. They also study and analyze the physical aspects or characteristics related to earth. The studies are carried out with past and present geographic materials using complex instruments. Geo science has application in exploring and preserving natural resources, in identification of minerals, metals, fossils etc. Geo scientist carries out geological surveys and uses the information collected by satellites to perform the above-mentioned activities. They are also responsible for identifying earthquake prone areas on earth surface and its related intensity.
Qualifying Exam
The candidate should have completed master’s degree from any of the reputed institutions to get qualified for the job position of geo scientist. The qualification must be obtained in any of the areas of geo science, earth science, geology, or other related field. Those who are interested in academics should possess a doctorate degree. The main topics covered under the Geo Science include geology, biology, mathematics, mineralogy, paleontology, petrology, and physics.
Who are eligible to apply?
Those who possess post graduation in any of the above-mentioned subjects are eligible to apply for the job of Geo Scientist. Graduation in geography or geology is the preferred qualification for PG in Geo Science. For this, the candidate should complete their intermediate studies with Science as the main area of study. Experience in related job profiles is much beneficial to get in to the job position of the same.
