Structure of Section Officer’s Grade Examination for Civil Audit Branch

This test will contain two parts. The following are the subjects of part 1 with their marks and duration.

• Service Regulations (Theory) – 100 marks with duration of 1 ½ hours
• Service Regulations (Practical) – 100 marks with duration of 2 ½ hours
• Financial Rules and Principles of Government Accounts – 100 marks with duration of 2 hours
• Constitution of India – 100 marks with 2 hours

The following are the subjects of part2 with their marks and duration

• Précis and Draft – 100 marks with duration of 2 ½ hours
• Public Works Accounts (Theory) – 100 marks with duration of 1 ½ hours
• Public Works Accounts (Practical) – 100 marks with duration of 3 hours
• Financial Accounting with Elementary Costing - 100 marks with duration of 3 hours
• Government Audit - 100 marks with duration of 2 ½ hours
• Computer System (Theory) – 50 marks with duration of 1 hour
• Computer System (Practical) – 50 marks with duration of 2 hours

Study Plan

For getting good marks in government exams good preparation should be needed by the students. It is better to start preparations at least three months before the exam. Set a target for each day and try to complete it effectively. At the end of each week revise the studied topics. This can be accomplished by reading notes which should be prepared while studying. Rather than studying huge topics as such, divide it into small segments. Allocate time for each of them according to the difficulty possessed by them. Thus available time can be managed effectively. Study with old question papers, question banks etc. Don’t strain mind with prolonged studying.
