Linux System Administrator – How to become Linux System Administrator?
Linux System Administrator is basically a System Administrator specialized in Linux technology. They manage the computers which uses the Linux operating system.
Their duty includes installation, upgrading and maintenance of servers. They are also responsible for backing up the data in the server and protect it from unauthorized access. They manage all the files in the system. In some cases, they do programming like scripting to automate tasks.
Qualifying Exam
Usually the system administrators possess four year degree course in computer engineering, computer science, Information system management or Information technology. College degree is not mandatory, if they have practical experience and certification. Various certifications in Linux administration are

Candidates need to qualify the entrance exam of the concerned University to get admission.

Linux System Administrator should possess vast knowledge in Linux. They should be various servers which can be installed in computers using Linux Operating System. They need excellent communication skill in English. They should be adaptive with any working environment. They also need good customer service skills. They should have advanced knowledge of cPanel or WHM control panel. They should be aware of bash and Perl shell scripting. They should be aware of the security measures needed for the data in servers. Firewall is usually used to protect data. Linux operating system has its own way of installing and maintaining firewall.
