Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) is a compulsory exam which needs to be cleared to be eligible to choose teaching profession in any of the government or private schools. The aspirants interested in teaching field have to clear this exam.

Structure of Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET)

CTET will consist of multiple choice questions (MCQs) each carrying 1 mark. There will be 150 MCQs for the primary stage test and 210 MCQs for Elementary Stage. There will be no negative marking. The exam will be for 90 minutes.

Eligibility Criteria

For primary stage (Classes I - IV), the minimum qualification required is senior secondary education with at least 50% marks and 2 year diploma course in elementary education. For elementary stage (Classes VI – VIII), the candidates should have a graduate degree along with 2 year diploma in elementary education / 1 year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) degree. Senior secondary qualification with 4 year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) or B.A / B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed / B.Sc.Ed candidates are also eligible.

How to Apply?

The candidates can obtain the application form along with information brochure from various concerned centers by payment of Rs. 500/- (Rs. 250/- for SC/ST/ Differently Abled Category). The aspirants can also apply for the CTET by online mode through website www.cbse.nic.in or www.ctet.nic.in. The candidates applying online should take the print out of the computer generated confirmation page and along with the demand draft from any nationalized bank drawn in favor of ‘The Secretary’, Central Board of Secondary Education; Delhi payable at Delhi has to be sent to the prescribed address before the last date.

How to fill the Form?

All the details regarding filling of the application form are listed in the application brochure. The candidates are advised to go through that before filling. The applicants have to write the completed mailing address including postal pin code in capital letters. One has to make sure that there is no over writing, cutting, erasing or incomplete columns in the application form since it may lead to the rejection of form.
