Christ University came into existence in the year 1969 and it is managed by the priests of the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate. The university holds the pride of being the first indigenous Syrian Catholic Religious Congregation in India. The university began its journey as Christ College and it was granted the status of deemed university under section 3 of the UGC Act 2008.
The university is spread over a campus spread over an area of 25 acres of land, which is an urban campus. When the university was operating as a college, it was the first college in the state of Karnataka to have earned accreditation from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council and the college has always been one among the top 10 colleges in the nation.
