Indian Institute of Science (IISc) is one of the prominent research institutions of higher learning in the country which is located in Bangalore. The admittance of candidates to these programmes will be on the basis of the score obtained in the entrance exam conducted by the institute.

Structure of IISc Integrated Ph.D in Chemical Sciences Entrance Exam

The IISc Integrated PhD Chemical Sciences Entrance Exam will be of objective type multiple choice pattern. The candidates have to choose the correct answer from the four alternative options. There will be no negative marking for the incorrect answers. One has to answer 100 questions within 180 minutes. The questions will be mainly from the key topics in Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics with greater emphasis on Chemistry.

Eligibility Criteria

For the admittance to the IISc Integrated PhD Chemical Sciences programme, the candidates should have completed their B.Sc or an equivalent degree programme in Physical, Chemical or Biological Sciences (including Pharmaceutical, Veterinary Sciences and Agricultural Sciences) from a recognized University with minimum aggregate marks of 60%. However there is relaxation in marks for the SC/ST candidates. For them, a pass in the under graduate programme is enough.

How to Apply?

The aspirants can apply online for the IISc Integrated PhD Chemical Sciences Entrance Exam from the website http://admissions.iisc.ernet.in/web/Login.aspx. To start the online process, the candidates have to first register using Email ID and a password. One also has to take a DD of Rs. 600/- (Rs.300 for SC/ST/PH candidates) before starting to fill the form as the DD details has to be entered while filling the form. Then the applicants are required to fill the application form furnishing the correct data. After completely filling the application form, one has to take the printout of the completed form. The printed application form along with the requisite enclosures have to be sent to the Deputy Registrar (Academic), Admissions unit, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore -560 012 on or before the due date. The candidates can also apply via offline mode for which the application form along with information brochure can be bought from the concerned centers by payment of Rs. 600/- (Rs.300 for SC/ST/PH candidates).

  • Read the information brochure before form filling
  • All the columns have to be filled without committing any errors
  • Name and date of birth entered in the application form should match with that in the degree certificate

Preview the completed application form by clicking on the ‘Preview your Application form’ button. Go through it carefully to verify all the details and if any error is found go back to the online Application form by clicking ‘edit’ button and correct them.
