University of Pune organizes PhD in Adult Continuing Education & Extension Entrance Exam every year for the purpose of selecting eligible candidates for admission into Doctor of Philosophy in Continuing Education & Extension course offered at the University. The University also organizes separate entrance exams annually for various courses in several disciplines offered at the University. The University is generally referred to as ‘Oxford of the East’.

Structure of University of Pune PhD in Adult Continuing Education & Extension Entrance Exam

The total time duration of the exam will be 2 hours. This exam comprises of 2 sections. In the first section there will be 13 objective type questions and each question carries 2 marks. The candidate needs to do only 10 questions. The second section comprises of 4 modules which are of descriptive type. The first module comprises of 4 short answer type questions and each question carries 10 marks. They need to attempt only 2 questions. The second module consists of 4 critical note type questions of 10 marks each and the candidates need to attempt only 2 questions. The third section includes 4 essay type questions and each question carries 10 marks. The candidate needs to attempt two questions. The final module also includes four 10 marks questions and the candidate needs to attempt 2 questions.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The candidate should have a Master’s degree in the subject from any recognized University to be eligible to apply for this entrance exam.
  • At least 50% marks in the qualifying exam is a must in order to appear for this exam.
  • The reserved category candidates have a relaxation of 5% in the marks required to appear for this exam.

How to apply?

The candidate can apply for this exam online in the official website of the University. The candidates have to register in the official website before applying online. They can pay the fees via online and offline mode. They can directly pay the fees in any branch of HDFC Bank Ltd or Bank of Maharashtra. Or else they can take a DD in favor of Registrar, University of Pune which is payable at Pune. The print out of the application form should be taken and one should send it along with the challan/DD and other required documents to Deputy Registrar, P. G. Admission Section, University of Pune, Pune - 411 007, Maharashtra on or before the due date.

How to fill the Form?

The candidates have to fill the online form very precisely without making any mistakes. They have to correctly mention their name, contact details, category name and other relevant details in the appropriate places without making any mistakes. The fess payment details should be entered with great care. After applying online they will be provided a registration number and password which should be kept safely for future reference.
