BITS Admission Test or BITSAT is a computer based online exam for admission to Integrated Degree programmes of Birla Institute of Technology and Science. This All India Exam follows the objective based multiple choice question format where candidates are required to answer 150 questions in 180 minutes. There are various examination centers across India and in Dubai.

Pattern of BITSAT Exam

BITSAT is conducted online where the candidates can choose the centre, day and time as per convenience. It is conducted over a particular time period that allows flexibility to the candidates.

Candidates are required to complete the examination within 3 hours time.

The exam is comprised of 4 parts:

  • Physics
  • Chemistry
  • English Proficiency and Logical Reasoning
  • Mathematics

BITSAT follows the objective model question paper with multiple choice questions. Each question carries 3 marks with a deduction of 1 mark for incorrect answers. The medium of the test is English.

There will be total of 150 questions, with 40 questions each from Physics and Chemistry, 15 questions from English Proficiency and 10 from Logical Reasoning, and 45 questions from Mathematics.

BITSAT provides an option for attempting 12 extra questions for candidates who have attended all 150 questions. There will be four questions from each part. Candidates who opt for this provision are not allowed to make any corrections in the 150 questions done previously.

The questions will be from various question banks as decided by the expert committee. There will be different sets of question with comparable difficulty level, question types and content.

BITSAT will be based on the NCERT syllabus followed in class 11 and 12.

Exam Centers for BITSAT Exam

Candidates can choose from among 31 exam centers in different parts of India and in Dubai. The following is the list of test centers:

  • Campus of BITS in Pilani, Hyderabad, Goa, Dubai (International center)
  • Bangalore
  • Amritsar
  • Noida
  • Coimbatore
  • Bhubaneswar
  • Chandigarh
  • Ahmedabad
  • Guwahati
  • Delhi
  • Jaipur
  • Gurgaon
  • Chennai
  • Hyderabad City
  • Gwalior
  • Lucknow
  • Indore
  • Kolkatta
  • Mumbai
  • Hubli
  • Nagpur
  • Pune
  • Trivandrum
  • Roorkee
  • Varanasi
  • Patna
  • Visakhapatnam
  • Surat
  • Vijayawada

Candidates are required to list three centers in the order of preference while applying. Candidates will be allotted centers from any of the 3 centers listed. Those who choose Dubai as the center are not required to list any other preference. BITS reserves the right to cancel any center according to the number of students who have opted for that particular centre. Candidates will be intimated about their exam centre through the BITS website.
