Application Procedure for IGNOU admission
Indira Gandhi National Open University is often considered as the largest University in the world, which provides education by means of distance learning. The university conducts numerous programmes in various subjects. Moreover, the university has made the admission process easier by introducing the online mode. Candidates seeking admission to any of the programmes of IGNOU have the opportunity of seeking online admission.
How to apply online?
Candidates can apply online for various courses through the official website of the University. This facility provides the opportunity to make online fees payment too. Before applying online, candidates are required to go through the prospectus, which can be downloaded from the official website. Candidates are required to log on to the official website and to fill all the relevant data in the online admission application form.
After successful submission of online application, an automatic application number will be generated by the website itself. Candidates are required to note this number for future reference. The format of Cash Challan for remitting the fee will appear on the screen once the application form is submitted. Â The candidate should take a print-out of the filled in application as well as challan form which will contain three copies. Fees can be deposited in any branch of Axis bank or Punjab National Bank across the country. On payment of the cash, banks will retain one copy of the challan and return two copies to the candidate after filling in the transaction number. After cash payment, candidates should affix their photograph as well as signature at the appropriate place of the print-out copy of the admission form. Print outs of the fully filled application along with one copy of fee receipt and attested Photostat copies of supporting documents should be sent by post to the Regional Centre.
Payment Modes
Cash payments can be done in different ways. Candidates having a credit card can make online payment through the website itself. Apart from cash challan and credit card payment, candidates can make payment through Bank Drafts. The details of the draft are to be mentioned in the online application form before submission. Candidates are required to take a draft from any branch of Punjab National bank across India. Candidates’ name, Auto generated Application Number given by IGNOU and programme applied should be mentioned on the back side of Demand Draft / Challan Copy.
