Ambedkar Open University, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University and Osmania University are the reputed institutes that offer Post graduation course in Chemistry in Hyderabad. Candidates who have completed graduate level courses in Chemistry or Biological Chemistry are eligible to apply for this course. Candidates are required to secure at least 40 % marks in graduation. Admission to the courses is purely based on the scores obtained in entrance test conducted by the respective Universities.

Eligibility Criterion

Candidates who have completed Chemistry/ Biological Chemistry in under graduate level are eligible to apply for this programme. Candidates should have secured a minimum of 40 % marks in aggregate. Candidates belonging to reserved category require a pass in graduation exam to be eligible.

Admission Procedure

Admission to the courses is based on the scores obtained by candidates in the qualifying exam. Apart from this, reputed institutes such as Osmania University conducts entrance examination as part of admission procedure.

Exam Pattern

Candidates who seek admission to post graduation programme in chemistry in colleges in Hyderabad will have to undertake entrance exam conducted by the respective Universities. Questions will be of under graduate level. There will be objective type multiple choice questions. Medium of instruction will be in English. There will be a total of hundred questions. Time duration of the entrance test is 90 minutes.

Candidates can expect questions from the topics such as Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry and Physical chemistry. Candidates who have cleared the written test will be short listed for personal interview. Final selection will be based on the composite scores obtained by the candidates in written test and counselling.
