Admission Procedure in NIE, Mysore

Admissions are done as per the norms and policies of AICTE and Karnataka State Government. Candidates with any of the following educational qualifications can apply for B.Tech programs.

• Pass in 12th (with Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry) with English as one of the subjects
• Science graduation with Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry / Computer Science as subjects
• 3 year diploma with a minimum of 50% marks
• Score obtained in Karnataka Common Entrance Test/AIEEE forms the basis of admission.

B.Tech holders with at least 50% marks can apply for M.Tech degree in the concerned subject. Admissions are done through selection test, group discussion and interview. Marks obtained in selection test like GATE or VTU PGCET (Visvesvaraya Technological University - Post Graduate Common Entrance Test) is also considered for selection. Admission to Ph.D / M.Sc. Engineering (by Research) courses is done via University Level Research Aptitude Test or ULRAT.
