For IAS, one has to appear for Civil Services Examination which is going to be conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission). The selection procedure is by
-CSAT (Civil Services Aptitude Test) -Civil Services Main Examination -Interview Here is the eligibility criteria for civil services examination. Academic Qualification : -One should have completed Graduation with any of the stream from a recognized university. -Candidates who have appeared for final year exams of Graduation and waiting for the results can also apply. Age criteria : -One should be in the age group of 21-30 years to be eligible for this exam. -Relaxation is there in upper age limit upto 3 years for the candidates of OBC category. -Relaxation is there in upper age limit upto 5 years for the candidates of SC/ST. Have good preparation to the exam and crack the exam. The upcoming civil services exam is going to be conducted on 20-05-2012. at first you should be a graduate to appear for the exam . after that you should to qualify civil service aptitude test . which is CSAT which is conducted by UPSC govt. if you clear this exam then only you can become a IAS. best of luck. |

write now I am the member of delhi police as a constable. so i want to know that what is the age relaxation for the departmental candidates
I have lost my two years because of doing training in delhi police so i can't do graduation on regular basis in the year 2010 and 2011 i am not appear for exam. what is the effect of this on my future |

The IPS exam is conducted by the UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) and the examination is divided in to three successive stages. The Preliminary Examination and The Main Examination. Interview Eligibility IPS exam: Age should be 21 years (minimum) and 30 years (maximum). SC/ST/OBC and ex-servicemen are given exemption of 3 to 5 years in maximum age limit. The student must be a degree holder of any recognized university. The final year degree students are also applying for the examination. Who have completed their M.B.B.S.,can also apply. Physical qualification for IPS: Height: For male should be 165cm and female should be 150cm for general category candidates. In the case of under SC/ST/OBC the height required is 160cm for male and 145cm for female. Chest: Minimum male candidates are 84cm and they should be able to expand the chest for 5cm. In the case of female candidates the minimum requirement is 79cm and they should be able to expand the chest for 5cm. Eye sight: 6/12 or 6/9 distant vision for worse eye and 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye. Near vision for worse eye is J2 and for good eye is J1. The physical standards are weekly run for 10kms in 60 minutes. Preliminary Examination: In this have multiple choice questions and this is also a qualifying for second exam. Main Examination: In this you have a written exam and an interview. No of attempts: General category 4 times, OBC 7 times SC/ST no limit. Its really sounds good, that, you want to serve the nation.In order to become a IPS [INDIAN POLICE SERVICE] officer, you must have to clear the civil service examinations, which are conducted by the UPSC [UNION PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION],. you should be a gradute or engg. graduate atleast ./ age should be 21-30 years relaxation for categories other than UR. For IPS you should be physically fit. two papers you have pass one is prilims and second is mains and then interview. date for IPS 2012 is 20th may .you can apply online at upsconline.nic.in any graduate can apply.

If u want to be an IPS ,then u have to go through ....CIVIL SERVICE EXAMINATION .....conducted by UPSC every year.The minimum qualification for this exam is .................. graduation,the condidates who are waiting for their final year results can also aply,but at the time when u aply for mains u should have completed ur degree.

1.Age limit 21 years must be completed on 1st August of the year, which a candidate is appearing. Maximum 30 for general category, 33 for OBCs and 35 for SCs/STs . Ex-servicemen will get 5 more years exemption from the prescribed age limit The date of birth accepted by the Commission is that entered in the Matriculation or Secondary School Leaving Certificate or in a certificate recognized by an Indian University as equivalent to Matriculation or in an extract from a Register of Matriculates maintained by a University, which extract must be certified by the proper authority of the University or in the Higher Secondary or an equivalent examination certificate. 2.Number of Attempts Four attempts for open, seven for OBCs and no limit for SCs/STs. If a person appears in the Preliminary Examination or even one paper is counted as an attempt. 3.Restrictions on applying for the examination: A candidate who is appointed to the Indian Administrative Service or the Indian Foreign Service on the results of an earlier examination and continues to be a member of that service will not be eligible to compete at this examination. 4. Minimum Physical Standard The physical standards are important for the job profile and the rigorous training at the NPA, which includes weekly run for 10 k.m. in 60 minutes, route march for 25 k.m. UAC, Horse riding, rock climbing, assault course, PT obstacles, rope climbing etc. I shall give a detailed a/c of this sometime. Services are divided into technical and non-technical. Technical services are IRTS, IPS, DANI PS, CISF, RPF & other Police organization. The Medical standards for Technical Services are stringent. Height : Male 165 cm Pahari Male (general also) & ST (not the SC/ OBC) – 160 cm Chest : Male Minimum 84 cm. Expansion 5 cm. Eye sight : 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye. 6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye. Near vision J 1 for good eye. J2 for worst eye. The correction is by lenses only. High standard for the Colour-blind test. No inherent night blindness. Vision should stereoscopic. Blood pressure (High) :Age 23 – 123, age 24 – 124, age 25 –122, age 28 – 124, age 30 –125, age 32 – 126, age 34 – 127. Ear: good listening & normal ear cavity. 1000 to 4000 frequency hearing impairment shd not be more than 30 decibels. Nasal: candidate should not stammer while speaking. |

The minimum qualification for the exam is that you need to be atleast graduate and your age must be between 21-30years if general. |
