Admission Procedure for MBA in SRM University

Graduates having obtained at least 60% marks can apply for MBA degree in SRM University. Admission is done either on the basis of CAT or on the basis of an entrance examination conducted by the University. The entrance exam consists of 20 questions each from topics like Data Interpretation, Quantitative Ability, GK, English and Reasoning. Those who qualify written exam need to appear for Group Discussion and Personal Interview as well. Candidates who have obtained a valid score in GMAT, MAT, XAT or TANCET can also submit applications for this course.

Eligibility Criteria for MBA in SRM University

A graduation degree in any subject is essential to apply for MBA in SRM University. It is compulsory for graduates to obtain at least 60% marks in graduate course level to apply for the same. Final year graduates also become eligible to apply for MBA in this university provided they are able to complete the course at the time of admission by scoring the specified percentage of marks.

Selection Procedure for MBA in SRM University

The selection for MBA course depends on the entrance exam organized by the university. On the other hand, those candidates who possess a valid score in CAT, GMAT, MAT, XAT or TANCET will also be considered for admission in to MBA course. The entrance examination will basically include a total of 100 questions for a total of 300 marks. Candidates have the opportunity to choose either an online or offline mode of written examination. It is essential to complete the test within a time limit of 2 hours 30 minutes. The question paper for written exam is divided in to five sections which is as follows –

  • Statements and Assumptions
  • Puzzles
  • Matrix and Linear arrangements
  • Critical Reasoning
  • Coding and Decoding
  • Cause and effect

Section 4 – English (20 questions)

  • Synonyms and Antonyms
  • Sentence correction and completion
  • Passage Comprehension
  • One word substitution
  • Odd man out
  • Idioms
  • Fill in the blanks

Section 5 – General Knowledge (20 questions)

  • Current Affairs
  • Major corporate events
  • Punch line of companies

Candidates who pass the written examination with the specified cut off score will come under the merit category and will be considered for further selection procedures. Group Discussion and Personal Interview will be organized for those who qualify written examination.
