The mathematical science which is concerned with the presentation, interpretation, collection, analysis and explanation of data is known as Statistics. Statistics is applicable to a variety of academic disciplines that include humanity, physical and social science, government and business. Statistics is of two types, that is, Descriptive Statistics and Inferential Statistics.

Eligibility:

For doing a Bachelor’s level course in statistics (B.Stat), the candidate must have completed the higher secondary school certificate exam from a recognized board of India. The candidate must have mathematics in the higher secondary studies. The selection to this course is merit based. Some universities take admission on the basis of entrance test while others take admission on the basis of score of the 10+2 exam.

Course Outlook:

The bachelor’s course in Statistics is a three year full time course. These three year is divided into three parts of one year duration each. Each year is followed by an exam. The student is taught elementary mathematics and courses in probability, statistics, computing, and physics. Subjects concerning with both Descriptive as well as Inferential statistics is taught in the Bachelor’s level course.

Job Prospects:

The work of a professional in statistics is to make statistical accounts for the company he is working for. Candidates may also be recruited in the field work like taking data and making statistical observations. Candidates are also hired in the position of maintenance of statistical devices.

    sir i am doing Bsc in statistics from mitibai college and i am in second year i got drop out and i am alredy fail in 12th becouse of medical region and then i got 48% in 12th, i am also doing gniit from (softwear) so can i get good and good many after i complete my greduation from statistics or i have to do msc also for good job please tell me what i have to do and how much marks i reqired in TyBsc for geting a good job or taking admition for Msc please help me i also have to give my K.T paper in october
