You just have to complete the graduation to be eligible for Indian Police Service. Therefore concentrate on your studies and complete the Engineering course. After completing B.Tech you will be eligible for the Indian Police Service.
Right now you are in third year. Next year would be good time to start preparing for the Civil Service Examination. It is one of the most competitive entrance exam in the country. More than 10 Lakh students appear for mere 300 seats available. Start off with polishing your English skills and general knowledge. It is important to know what is happening around you in the world. Watch the news regularly and ensure that you are aware of most latest happenings in the world. You can also refer to NCERT books for Class 12th to prepare for Civil Service Examination. There are previous years papers available online for the Indian Police Service. Download them and start solving after few days of studies. See which are the areas that need more work. Also remember that apart from academic requirement, there are several physical requirements as well to apply for the Indian Police Service. Please ensure that you are also meeting these requirements. IPS Eligibility 1. You should be of Indian origin. 2. Any bachelor degree from a recognized college. 3. There is no percentage criteria. 4. The age limit is 21 to 30 years. 5. with upto 3 years relaxation for OBC. 6. and 5 years relaxation for SC/ST. Physical Requirements Height Male - 165 cm (General/OBC/SC) and minimum of 160 cm (ST) Female - 150 cm (SC/OBC/General) and minimum of 145 cm (ST) Chest Male Minimum 84 cm. IPS stands for Indian Police Service. It is a civil service exam which is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission. Indian Police Service (IPS) is considered as the second most preferred career choice in India next to IAS. The prelims generally takes place in the first week of May and Mains in the second week of October. Indian Police Service, Indian Administrative Service and Indian Forest Service these are the top three civil service examinations of our country. It should be remembered that whoever have been appointed to the Indian Administrative Service or the Indian Foreign Service on the results of an earlier examination and continues to be a member of that service will not be allowed to sit for this exam. Nationality:- You need to be a citizen of India. Migrants from certain countries are allowed to give exams of some Central Services but not for civil service exams. Educational Qualification:- You need to have a bachelor's degree in any discipline of your choice from a recognized university. That's the minimum criteria stated by UPSC for any exam it conducts. Since it has not mentioned the percentage to attain therefore all you need is a graduate degree. Age Criteria:-
Physical Eligibility:- 1. Height:- i) Minimum Height for Men: 165 cm ii) Minimum Height for Women: 150 cm 5cm relaxation available for the SC categories only. The above mentioned criteria is applicable for the General, OBC, and SC categories aspirants. 2. Chest:- i) Men: 84 cm (expansion: 5cm) ii) Women: 79 cm (expansion: 5cm) 3. Eye Sight:- 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye. 6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye. You must have high grade color vision and binocular vision. Spectacles is allowed. 4. Ear:- Good listening and normal hear activity. Hearing impairment should not be more than 30 decibels. In addition to that candidates should not stammer while speaking. Hope this helps :-> :-> |
