The Belgian government together with the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of Higher Education of the Indian government offers eligible applicants with scholarships.

The scholarship has a period of 10 months and is availed in the following area of specialization:

• Agronomy
• Environmental Science
• Photonics

Belgium Government Scholarship Eligibility

These are the eligibility requirements for the scholarship:

• Aspirants need to have a score of above 60 percent marks in the related topic.
• Aspirants need to have scored first class marks in all classes. Those who have already done their doctoral degree shall not be considered.
• The scholarships are only applicable for higher educational institutions that have recognition from the Flemish Government. Details can be got at www.highereducation.be/browseindex and www.highereducation.be.
• Aspirants need to submit two sets of the admission forms together with all the necessary documents.
• Aspirants need to be less than 35 years when they apply.

Value and Duration of Belgium Government Scholarship

• Candidates shall be given a allowance of 840, 00 EUR every month
• The tuition fee reimbursement is to be paid to an institute that is subsidized by an institute belonging to the Flemish community. The maximum amount shall be readjusted annually.
• The travel expense shall be the responsibility of the aspirant or his employer.

Last Date for submission

The final date for the form submission is the mid week of July. The admission form for the scholarship can be taken from the official website of the Department of Higher Education, Government of Belgium - www.education.nic . The offline admission form must be received by the department of education 5 days prior to the closing date.

What all should be enclosed?

• Attested copies of all educational certificates or degrees
• TOEFL or IELTS certifications
• Curriculum vitae that has all details of the aspirant
• Details on how and why the aspirant is motivated for the scholarship
• Recent passport size photograph of the aspirant
• Letters of recommendation by professors who have taught the aspirant

Things to be kept noted

• Admission forms that are received subsequent to the final date will not be considered
• Admission forms that are incomplete shall not be considered
• Candidates who are selected for this scholarship will be granted the same. So, aspirants need to send a copy of the conformation letter that they will not refuse the offer alongside the application
• Applications of aspirants who reside abroad shall not be considered
• Aspirants who have jobs ought to apply through their employers. The aspirant must provide a No Objection Certificate that is attested by the employer. Those who fail to produce this will not be allowed to attend the interview.
• Aspirants need to have a good knowledge of the cultural heritage as well as geographical situation of India & Belgium.

The final decision regarding the scholarship shall rest with the Belgium government.
