CUMAT is conducted by university of Calicut for the admission to the MBA programme. University is offering full time and part time MBA programmes. The specializations that are offered as part of the MBA program are:

Structure of Calicut University Management Aptitude Test (CUMAT)

CUMAT includes an objective test of one hundred and twenty marks. GD and personal interview will be there for the candidates qualified in this test. The total marks are divided in the manner given below.

  • Entrance exam: 120 marks
  • Plus Two / PDC marks: 30 marks
  • Group Discussion: 25 marks
  • Personal Interview: 25 marks

Marks considered in the case of Plus Two/PDC are according to the percentage of marks obtained in that exam. Marks given for different percentage is given below.

  • 50.01% to 59.99% marks obtained: 10 marks
  • 60% to 74.99% marks obtained: 20 marks
  • 75 % and above marks: 30 marks

Eligibility Criteria

Candidate should possess any degree from University of Calicut or any other university approved by UGC. Degree is preferred to be taken under 10+2+3 pattern. 50% marks (including language) should be needed in degree to apply for CUMAT. SC/ST candidates will be provided with 5% relaxation in this case. Candidate who prefer MBA evening program need experience of three years. Candidates waiting for results can apply on the condition that they will submit the pass certificate before the starting of registration to first semester.

How to Apply?

Applicant can choose any of the three options given below

  • From the official website of the university, applicants can download the application form and then they can send it to the authority after filling properly
  • From the Head, DCMS, University of Calicut, applicants can personally collect the form. For this they have to pay Rs.500/-
  • Applicants can get application forms by post on sending DD of 500/- to the concerned authority. Demand Draft payable at State Bank of Travancore needs to be taken in the name of The Finance Officer, University of Calicut. This should be send along with an envelope of 26 x 15 cm size addressed to the applicant itself.
  • For SC/ST candidates the application fee is Rs.167.

How to fill the Form?

Along with the application form applicant will get instructions to fill that form. Read those instructions properly before filling the form. Capital letters are preferred to be used for filling the form. Name, Date of birth specified by the applicant on the form should be similar to what is specified on SSLC or Degree certificate. Affix color passport size photograph on the form. Do not make any mistake while specifying category as it can deny relaxation privileges. Check mandatory fields are not left without entering information. Fill up every detail before forwarding the form to the concerned authority.

Study Plan

Some guidelines to prepare for this exam are mentioned below:

Specify goals: Goals are needed to be specified before achieve anything. For an entrance exam it should be a better score so that candidate can confirm admission to their desired course. Students should decide how much they can achieve before setting a plan for that.

Once goal is set then only better plan can be made according to that.

Obtaining resources to study: Understand the syllabus and collect textbooks of the topics in the syllabus. Student can obtain these books either through internet or shops.

Set a place and time: Prefer a neat place without noise and distractions to study. By this students can maintain their concentration to study. Give specific time to each topic according the acquaintance of students with these topics. Manage time without wasting it.

Make a weekly plan: Determine a target for a week and try to finish it in time. Last day of the week can be taken for revising notes which were prepared while studying. Then schedule another plan for next week.

Try question papers and self preparatory tests: Obtain question papers of the examination conducted in past year and try to solve it. This will give the students a good opportunity to acquaint with the exam. Undertake small tests to improve the knowledge.

Take some leisure time: While making study plan give time for taking intervals to refresh mind.

Results will be available on the website http://www.universityofcalicut.info.

Score Validity

Validity of score obtained from this exam will be twelve month.
