Both CAD Technicians and Robotics Technicians are the specialists who are engaged in designing procedures of particular structures. Even though their profession seems to be similar there are lots of dissimilarities between them. CAD technicians are the experts who use the computer software to design buildings and machineries. Robotic technicians are the professionals who are involved in the design, maintenance and use of robots.

CAD Technician Course and Career opportunities

The plan and design of buildings or machineries have to be figured out before their implementation. For this purpose, the experts utilize the Computer Aided Design to develop designs of various structures. CAD technicians are the experts who perform these types of jobs. They use the particular computer software to design diverse structures for the construction, engineering and production industries.

Their job includes the manufacturing of electronic version of the drawings that were previously created by a draughtsman using pen and paper. They are recruited in a variety of industries. These experts may work with both two dimensional (solid modeling) and three dimensional (surface modeling) designs. Solid modeling is the making of three dimensional display of structure or components that an engineer can utilize to take up a practical sightsee around the proposed buildings or machinery. The surface modeling is the drawing of flat representation of a design. Candidates usually require at least an associated degree or bachelor’s degree in related area. Experience is also an important factor for these technicians to perform successfully in this field.

Robotics Technician Course and Career opportunities

The technology involving the design, maintenance and use of robots, which are the machines designed to carry out tasks in place of a living agent, is called Robotics. The experts involved in these types of work are called Robotics Technician. They may work as part of a large team that manufactures robots. Most of these robots are used as the machines that perform jobs in place of human hand or arm. These specific machines are usually controlled by microprocessors.

Robotics Technicians help other professionals such as manufacturing, electronics and mechanical engineers in almost all stages of robotic design, development, manufacture, checking and operations. These technicians are mostly recruited by the manufacturers and distributors or users of robots. They are generally responsible for the primary installation of robots and then may create an in-house maintenance and repair functions. Those technicians who are highly trained in computer programming occasionally carry out low-level encoding and reprogramming of robots. Robotic technicians frequently act as the link between robotic engineers and clients who purchase the machines.

Key differentiators between CAD Technician and Robotics Technician

  • CAD Technicians are the experts who utilize the specific computer software to design buildings or machineries whereas Robotics Technicians are the professionals who are engaged in the design, maintenance and utilization of robots.

Although CAD Technicians and Robotics Technicians are the experts engaged in the design and development of particular structures, there exist lots of differences between them.
