The Master of Technology is just a high level B.tech and a guaranteed two years postgraduate program where we take more advanced courses, do tougher assignments and do a one year project. The Master of Technology degree program is designed to enhance proficiencies in planning, organising, decision making and management of complex technical systems in the contemporary knowledge economy. It provides students with a graduate education with advanced and comprehensive technical management skills to support, analyze, modify and manage complex technical systems. Candidates have to get through the gate exam in order to get admitted in to this course.

The main objectives of M.tech program are as follows-

To train students in high level theoretical knowledge which helps them to tackle practical complex problems of design as well as pursue further academic achievement through research and development in the industrial field.

It enhances problem solving and creative thinking skills and control the use of high technologies to improve the efficiency of productive processes and systems in the workforce.

On the other hand Master of Applied Sciences (MAppSc) is a research based postgraduate degree in which primary emphasis is on the thesis rather than the course work. Before undertaking the MAppSc, a candidate should complete a BAppSc degree in a related subject area but the degree is also open to those with other relevant qualifications. Students undertaking this course will develop a capacity for independent research and problem analysis and solution. They will also develop their knowledge and understanding through a program of independent reading and formal coursework.

The MAppSc is basically designed for students who wish to pursue research with business and economic implications. The main objectives of MAppSc program are as follows-

It provides students with advanced knowledge in one science discipline.

It provide students with opportunities to acquire skills in the range of basic mathematical,physical,computational,earth and life sciences and meet the needs of industry, business and government agencies.
