Exhibition designers are professionals who basically get involved in the process of designing exhibitions. The main function of Exhibit designers involves conducting discussions with the clients. Exhibition Designers designs and makes layouts for shows and other exhibitions. Exhibition designers are the persons who present the ideas of the clients through the displays. The role of an exhibit designer is significant as the major responsibility of planning, designing, arrangement and budgeting of various kinds of exhibitions as per the changing needs of the clients are done by them. The core area of work includes exhibitions conducted in museums or galleries, Libraries, Flower shows, air shows, out door exhibitions, trade and industry exhibitions, conferences etc. Exhibition Designers exchange their ideas regarding the exhibitions to the clients in the form of sketches, computer visuals and models scale plans etc.
Qualifying Exam
The aspirants who wish to make a career in this field should have a graduation degree from any reputed institute. The National Institute of Design offers the graduation in Exhibition design which can be an ideal course in this field. A bachelor’s degree in architecture is an important course which the candidates can pursue. The important skills which are required in this area can be acquired during on the job training. It will be added advantage if the candidates have an interest towards the Computer Aided design (CAD) and also in photography. There are various short term diploma and certification courses which one can opt for entering in to this field. The Knowledge in the area of spatial design, interior design, graphic design and 3D design etc is also preferred for this post.
Who are eligible to apply?
Any candidate who has completed the 12th class can enter in to this field. The candidates can join for the Masters degree in the same field only after successfully completing the graduation course. In case of graduation courses in Architecture, the candidates at times will be selected on the basis of entrance exam. This may vary upon the institute you are applying to.
