Bioinformatics is a very new subject and is based on the research and analysis of the information about the biological component. The main study under this course is about the Data base management system dealing with the biological component, specially the genetic materials. The course basically deals with the presentations ass well representation of the information about the genetic materials. It can be DNA, RNA, or simply a Protein or Nucleic Acid. The course comprises of all of them. Under M.sc in Bioinformatics, the correct and best suitable way of representing and describing those materials are given.

The course is very much in demand. A lot of candidates from all over the country are interested in this course. That is the reason why so many new colleges are being opened in spite of having so many old ones. The demand of this course is constantly rising which is causing the government as well as the private based institutions to come together in this venture.

The fee structure of this course depends on the college from which this course is being done. Every college has its own fee slab and charges its own fee for this course. The fee structure is generally in between 30000 to 50000 per year. The names of some renowned institutes that offers this course is Benras Hindu University, Amity University, IIIT, Singhania University, VIT, Manipal University and many more. The fee charged in VIT is Rs. 30,000, whereas in Singhania University, the fee goes as high as Rs. 50,000 for this course. CPGS charges whopping Rs. 40,000 for this course. The fee charged by university of Pune is Rs. 30,357 per year for Maharashtra students and Rs. 59,857 per year for other students.

The above mentioned colleges do not offer any kind of fee relaxation to backward and lower caste students. They offer only reservation at the time of admission in this course. On the other hand, poor students do get consideration in some colleges but on being extra ordinary in their academics.
