I want to know that three years Diploma in Information Technology course is equivalent to Higher Secondary? Kindly tell me about this. Thank you.

Diploma in information technology of 3 years is more than 10+2 qualification. It will allow you to get specialised jobs in a given field plus you will be eligible for lateral entry admission in direct 2nd year if you go for B.Tech degree.

Therefore, it is not equivalent but more than 10+2. In some situations it is treated equivalent by some authorities to avoid any arguments.

The three years Diploma course has higher value when compared to Higher Secondary course. Both three years Diploma course and Higher Secondary course can be pursued after completion of 10th standard. But, the duration of Diploma course is three years and Higher Secondary course is 2 years. By pursuing Diploma course, you can gain more practical knowledge when compared to knowledge gained by pursuing Higher secondary course. And also you can find many job opportunities after completion of your three years Diploma course. So, the three years Diploma course has higher value when compared to Higher Secondary course.

Diploma is always better than 10+2. Diploma is not equivalent to higher education but it is greater than higher education.

After you select particular diploma course you will get specilsed in that field and you've more chances of job.
Also you will be eligible for BTech lateral entry I.e. direct 2nd year engineering.
