Candidates after completion of the MA English with at least 55% marks can do PhD in English. Admission to the PhD in English is done on the basis of an entrance examination and interview. Candidates have to apply to the course either online or offline. Those candidates who have qualified M.Phil/NET/SET shall be exempted from the entrance examination.
Candidates can get financial help in the form of scholarships to study PhD in English. Various government and private organizations/institutions are providing scholarships for PhD in English. Some of the colleges/universities also offer scholarships for bright students to pursue PhD in English. Some of the scholarships are given below;
